Dr. Bristol has served as a member of the Board of Directors of Deciphera Pharmaceuticals since August 2007, as Chairperson of the Board from February 2015 to August 2023 and as co-Chairperson from September 2007 to February 2015. Dr. Bristol has also served as Chairperson of the Compensation Committee since September 2017 and as a member of the Science and Technology Committee since September 2023. Dr. Bristol worked for 32 years in drug discovery, research and preclinical development at Schering-Plough Corporation, Parke-Davis, and Pfizer Inc., serving in various senior research and development roles. From 2003 until his retirement in 2007, Dr. Bristol served as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Drug Discovery Research at Pfizer Global Research and Development, where he oversaw 3,000 scientists at seven Pfizer sites as they produced an industry leading number of drug development candidates in 11 therapeutic areas. In 2009, Dr. Bristol joined Frazier Healthcare Partners as a Senior Advisor. He serves on the board of directors of Erasca, Inc. since 2018 and Eterna Therapeutics Inc. since 2023. Dr. Bristol is the author of over 100 publications, abstracts and patents. He conducted postdoctoral research at the University of Michigan (NIH Postdoctoral Fellow) and at The Squibb Institute for Medical Research. Dr. Bristol received a B.S. in Chemistry from Bates College and a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from the University of New Hampshire.
