Masahiro Hamada
Chief of Staff
Masahiro Hamada is Vice President and Chief of Staff at Deciphera Pharmaceuticals. He joined Ono Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. in 2007 and has held a wide range of leadership roles across corporate planning, government healthcare policy, and risk management. Before assuming his current role, Masahiro oversaw Risk Management and part of Corporate Management at Ono Pharma USA, where he established capabilities toward Ono’s first U.S. product launch. During his time at Ono, he has led a lot of cross-functional and executive projects including Ono's corporate strategy.
From 2019 to 2021, he served as Deputy Director in the Office of Healthcare Policy within the Cabinet Secretariat of the Government of Japan, where he contributed to national healthcare R&D strategy and COVID-19 policy initiatives.
He holds an MBA from GLOBIS University and a BS in Physics from the University of Toyama.
