Deciphera is delving into the biology of human disease to discover new therapeutics in each of our three focus areas (oncology, neurology, immunology & inflammation). Our team harnesses cutting-edge technologies including advanced kinase-inhibitor science, data analytics, and AI-enabled drug discovery to accelerate breakthroughs from lab to life.
Oncology
Deciphera has been a leader in oncology research for decades, challenging traditional thinking and bringing innovative therapies from bench to bedside. Our commitment to scientific exploration, collaboration, and perseverance through challenges has helped our researchers discover groundbreaking oncology medicines.
Deciphera has developed a portion of our oncology programs using our proprietary drug discovery platform. Leveraging our deep expertise in kinase biology, we design kinase inhibitors targeting the switch pocket region of the kinase with the goal of developing potentially transformative medicines. Through our patient-inspired approach, we seek to improve the lives of those we serve.
Kinases play a crucial role in regulating cellular functions and the communication of cells with their environments. When dysregulated, kinases contribute to the development and progression of diseases including cancer, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.
Our kinase inhibitors interact at a molecular level that is distinct from other kinase inhibitors and are designed to generate higher and more durable rates of response.
How our proprietary drug discovery platform works:
Additionally, through the R&D efforts of Ono Pharma’s Research Center of Oncology, we are pursuing original and unique drug candidates and new drug modalities. We are doing this based on Ono’s pioneering work in cancer immunotherapy, through open innovation with academia and global biopharmaceutical companies and by supporting important translational research.
Immunology & Inflammation
Immune diseases and disorders are some of the most common diseases, affecting up to 24 million people in the United States. Deciphera is focused on two distinct but related areas of immunology: cancer immunotherapy and autoimmune therapy.
The immune system plays a role in numerous diseases. We’re using novel strategies designed to modify the immune mechanisms that go awry – with the goal of turning those insights into therapies.
Neurology
Diseases that affect the central and peripheral nervous systems are some of the most devastating conditions. They are also some of the most challenging to solve. Deciphera is working hard to develop medicines across a range of neurological conditions.
We are committed to research that has the potential to bring patients disease-modifying therapies as well as symptomatic treatments for neurological conditions and chronic pain.
