Jonathan Fletcher, M.D. is a lab-based medical and pediatric oncologist at Harvard Medical School, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston, Massachusetts. His research goals have been to identify and characterize oncogenic mutations in sarcoma. By identifying and studying such mutations, his lab has pinpointed biologic mechanisms regulating sarcoma and GIST cell growth and survival. Dr. Fletcher’s other lab commitments include creation of biologically representative sarcoma cell lines, discovery and validation of novel targeted therapies, and correlative science studies to demonstrate mechanisms of response and resistance to targeted therapies. Dr. Fletcher also coordinates an international research consortium devoted to maximizing therapeutic response in GIST.
