Deciphera Pharmaceuticals, LLC was established in 2003 as a drug discovery and development company with the mission to design, optimize and introduce "best-in-class" small molecule switch inhibitors of protein kinases for human clinical trials and the global pharmaceutical marketplace through the use of its proprietary drug discovery technology platform, Phylomechanics.

The three major distinguishing features of Deciphera's switch inhibitor technology are:

Switch inhibitors directly target the mechanisms that render kinases oncogenic.

Switch inhibitors retain potency against drug-resistant kinase mutations, including mutations in the gatekeeper region.

Switch inhibitor strategies enable unprecedented selectivity profiles relative to other kinase inhibitor classes.

Development Programs:

bcr-Abl Program

Deciphera has begun development of its small molecule bcr-Abl inhibitor, DCC-2036, which targets the T315I gatekeeper and other mutants.

B-Raf Program

Deciphera will be entering into development of its B-Raf inhibitor in Q4 of 2007. This small molecule inhibitor targets the oncogenic V600E mutant (melanoma and colon cancer) and also targets the T529I gatekeeper mutant.

Discovery Programs

Deciphera's oncology programs target dysfunctionally regulated oncogenic kinases whose switch mechanisms are mutated and unregulated. Deciphera's metabolic disease programs are currently targeting p38-alpha, MK-2 and Axl kinases. Switch control inhibitors have been discovered and optimized to provide development candidates to treat arthritis and other human inflammatory diseases.

Dr. James Bristol joins Deciphera Pharmaceuticals Board of Managers

Deciphera Pharmaceuticals LLC (Lawrence, Kansas) announces the appointment of Dr. James A. Bristol to its Board of Managers, effective August 1, 2007. Dr. Bristol joins the Deciphera Board after recently retiring from Pfizer, Inc., where he held the position of Senior Vice President, Worldwide Discovery Research from 2003-2007.

Commenting on the recent appointment, Daniel Flynn, President and Chief Executive Officer stated, "We are honored to have Dr. Bristol join our board and regard his joining as a testament to Deciphera's significant advancement of its technology and kinase inhibitor portfolio over the last three years.
